Meet Jeff Harris
Jeff Harris is the founder and lead inspector behind Harris Home Inspections, proudly serving buyers, sellers, Realtors, investors, and homeowners throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast with detailed inspections, honest communication, and relationship-driven service.
Born in Miami and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Jeff relocated to Ocean Springs at a young age and proudly considers the Gulf Coast home. A graduate of Ocean Springs High School, he was active in football and track and field before beginning a career centered around service, discipline, and protecting others. Before entering the home inspection industry, Jeff spent years working as a UPS delivery driver and later dedicated more than 23 years to fire service throughout the Gulf Coast region.
That experience continues to shape the way he approaches inspections today. As a firefighter, Jeff learned quickly that the smallest overlooked detail can sometimes become the biggest problem later. He learned how to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and pay attention to the details most people miss.
At Harris Home Inspections, Jeff believes an inspection should be more than simply delivering a report. His goal is to help clients better understand the condition of the property, explain concerns honestly, answer questions clearly, and give people the confidence to move forward without unnecessary guesswork.
Over the years, Harris Home Inspections has continued to grow through repeat clients, referrals, long-standing Realtor relationships, and the trust of families across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Jeff holds multiple certifications and specialized training including buyer and seller inspections, commercial inspections, pool and spa inspections, and air quality and mold inspections, bringing extensive Gulf Coast environmental experience to every inspection he performs.
Outside of inspections, Jeff enjoys spending time with his two sons, Michael and Jaxon, boating, fishing, motorsports, and enjoying the Gulf Coast lifestyle he has called home most of his life. He also proudly supports local organizations and community causes throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast, including Wild at Heart Rescue.
At the end of the day, Jeff believes relationships matter, communication matters, and trust matters. That philosophy continues to shape everything Harris Home Inspections is building across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Meet Cherie Speight
Cherie Speight serves as Director of Operations for Harris Home Inspections, helping oversee client communication, scheduling, systems management, Realtor relationships, marketing strategy, and operational growth throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
With more than 25 years of experience in operations, executive support, project management, and organizational leadership, Cherie brings a structured, relationship-driven approach to the client experience at Harris Home Inspections. Her professional background includes leadership and operational roles supporting executive teams within healthcare, technology, government contracting, ministry, and corporate environments, including Northrop Grumman Information Technology where she supported vice president and director-level operations and information management processes across multiple regional offices.
Throughout her career, Cherie has managed complex administrative operations, budgeting, project coordination, executive communications, event planning, organizational systems, branding, and community engagement initiatives across a wide variety of industries throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast and beyond. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Capella University, an Associate of Science degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, ITIL Foundation certification, Six Sigma Green Belt certification, and Project/Program Management certifications.
At Harris Home Inspections, Cherie plays an integral role in strengthening communication, streamlining operations, supporting Realtors and clients, and helping build a trusted inspection experience centered around professionalism, responsiveness, and long-term relationships across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Born and raised in Ocean Springs, Cherie remains deeply connected to the Gulf Coast community she proudly calls home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending as much time as possible with her four grandchildren, Avery, Ryder, Ronen, and Renner, supporting local nonprofit organizations including Wild at Heart Rescue and Seashore Mission, attending Gulf Coast events, enjoying waterfront sunsets, and trying her best to win over her incredibly stubborn cat, Archibald.
