We're Raising the Standard in Home Inspections

Learn how Harris Home Inspections is raising the standard with enhanced documentation, body-worn camera technology, updated client protections, greater transparency, and a commitment to accountability.

At Harris Home Inspections, we've always believed that a home inspection should be more than a checklist.

It should provide clarity.

It should provide confidence.

Most importantly, it should help our clients make informed decisions about one of the largest investments of their lives.

As our company has grown, we've continually evaluated how we can better serve our clients and support the real estate professionals who trust us every day. That commitment has led us to invest in enhanced technology, improved documentation, updated client protections, and refined inspection procedures designed to deliver a higher level of service and accountability.

Enhanced Documentation

A thorough inspection is only as valuable as the documentation that supports it.

That's why Harris Home Inspections continues to invest in advanced documentation methods designed to provide greater transparency throughout the inspection process.

Body-Worn Camera Technology

We are currently working toward implementing body-worn camera technology during every inspection.

Every Harris Home Inspection will ultimately be documented from start to finish because transparency matters.

Our clients deserve to know:

✔ What we saw

✔ Where we looked

✔ What areas were accessible

✔ How we reached our conclusions

Body-worn cameras provide an additional layer of documentation that benefits buyers, sellers, real estate agents, and inspectors alike. This technology helps preserve an accurate record of property conditions at the time of inspection while reinforcing the integrity of the inspection process.

More Photographs. Better Documentation.

Our commitment to documentation extends beyond body-worn cameras.

Every inspection report includes extensive photographs, detailed observations, and clear explanations of the conditions identified during the inspection. Our goal is to provide clients with a report that not only identifies concerns but also helps them understand what those concerns mean.

Increased Transparency

Transparency builds trust.

We believe our clients deserve a clear understanding of the property's condition and the reasoning behind our findings and recommendations. Enhanced documentation helps ensure that everyone involved in the transaction has access to the same information and the same facts.

Updated Client Protections

At Harris Home Inspections, accountability matters.

As part of our commitment to continual improvement, we recently completed a comprehensive review and update of our inspection agreements, policies, and procedures.

Our objective was simple:

How can we better protect our clients and the investment they're making?

Commitment to Accountability

While many home inspection companies limit recovery of damages to the cost of the inspection fee, Harris Home Inspections has chosen a different approach.

We continue to stand behind Mississippi's mandated three-year liability period because we believe accountability matters.

Our philosophy is simple:

If we make a mistake, we should own it.

We believe clients deserve confidence not only in the inspection itself, but also in the company standing behind it.

Clearer Agreements

Our updated agreements are designed to provide greater clarity, improve communication, and ensure that clients fully understand the scope of services being provided.

The goal is not more paperwork.

The goal is better protection, better communication, and better expectations for everyone involved.

Focused Inspection. Collaborative Review.

One of the most important improvements we've implemented is what we call:

Focused Inspection. Collaborative Review.

A home inspection requires concentration, attention to detail, and the ability to thoroughly evaluate hundreds of systems and components throughout the property.

To provide the most thorough inspection possible, Harris Home Inspections has implemented an enhanced inspection process that allows inspectors to remain focused on evaluating the property while providing dedicated review time with clients and their real estate agents after completion of the inspection.

This approach allows us to:

✔ Maintain focus throughout the inspection

✔ Improve consistency and efficiency

✔ Reduce distractions and misunderstandings

✔ Enhance documentation quality

✔ Provide a dedicated opportunity to review significant findings

✔ Improve communication between inspectors, clients, and agents

The result is a better experience for everyone involved and, most importantly, a more thorough inspection for our clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do buyers still receive a post-inspection review?

Absolutely.

Upon completion of the inspection, clients and their real estate agents will have the opportunity to review significant findings directly with the inspector.

Can real estate agents still attend the inspection?

Yes.

Licensed real estate agents directly involved in the transaction may continue to attend the inspection.

Why has Harris Home Inspections enhanced its inspection process?

After reviewing hundreds of inspections, we found that reducing distractions allows inspectors to remain focused on evaluating the property, improves consistency, enhances documentation, and ultimately provides a better experience for clients and agents alike.

What if my client is purchasing from out of town?

No problem.

We regularly work with out-of-town buyers and are happy to review significant findings by phone following the inspection.

Is this related to body-worn camera implementation?

Partially.

The enhanced inspection process, updated agreements, and body-worn camera initiative are all part of a broader effort to improve transparency, accountability, documentation, and client protection.

Is this because of a complaint, claim, or lawsuit?

No.

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to improve our processes and provide the highest level of service possible. The changes reflect our commitment to continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability.

Are real estate agents still part of the process?

Absolutely.

Our real estate partners are an important part of every transaction. The goal is not to reduce collaboration but to create a more focused inspection environment while preserving communication and review opportunities after the inspection has been completed.

How long is the Inspection Process Enhancement Trial Program?

The initial trial period is 90 days beginning July 1, 2026.

During this period, we welcome feedback from clients and real estate professionals as we evaluate the program and continue refining our processes.

Our Commitment

At Harris Home Inspections, we're not interested in doing things the way they've always been done simply because that's the way they've always been done.

We're committed to continuous improvement.

We're committed to transparency.

We're committed to accountability.

And we're committed to delivering the most thorough inspection possible for every client we serve.

It's our responsibility.
